Call Detail Records (CDRs)
Overview
Call Detail Records (CDRs) are the foundation of the Bullitt e-BSS system's data tracking and billing capabilities. CDRs provide a comprehensive record of all device activity on the satellite network, enabling detailed analysis of connectivity, messaging, and data usage.
What is a CDR?
A CDR is a standardized record generated whenever a device interacts with the satellite network. Each CDR contains information about:
- The type of event that occurred
- The device involved (identified by IMSI)
- When the event happened
- The direction of communication
- Data volume transferred (where applicable)
CDR Event Types
The e-BSS system generates CDRs for several types of events:
Event Type | Description |
---|---|
connected | Device established connection to the satellite network |
disconnected | Device disconnected from the satellite network |
message | Message was sent between device and network |
tracking | Tracking message sent from the device |
CDR Direction
CDRs include direction information:
- Upstream: Communications from the device to the network (device-initiated)
- Downstream: Communications from the network to the device (server-initiated)
